Crystal Palace Weigh Andoni Iraola Move as Managerial Decision Looms

Crystal Palace are considering a move for Andoni Iraola as they prepare for life after outgoing manager Oliver Glasner.

The club has already made contact and submitted a proposal to the Spanish coach, who is currently being given time to respond. Palace are reportedly expecting a decision by the end of the weekend.

Iraola has emerged as one of the most highly regarded young managers in Europe after guiding Bournemouth to European qualification and building a strong tactical reputation in the Premier League. Palace believe he could be the ideal figure to take the club to the next level, especially after their recent Conference League success in Germany.

As part of the offer, Palace are said to have promised him significant influence over recruitment, signaling a long-term project rather than a short-term appointment.

However, the club is also preparing alternative options if Iraola declines. Among the names being considered is Frank Lampard, who currently manages Coventry City and has supporters within the Palace hierarchy. Other managers reportedly discussed include Kieran McKenna, Pierre Sage, Sean Dyche, and Thomas Frank.

Lampard’s potential move would depend on negotiations with Coventry City, where he remains under contract.

Behind the scenes, Palace are also managing a wider squad planning process following their recent success. Key players such as Adam Wharton, Eberechi Eze, and Marc Guéhi continue to attract interest from top European clubs, including Liverpool and Manchester United.

Despite external attention, Palace are determined to avoid another wave of major departures as they aim to build stability ahead of next season.
