Aerial Video Shows Ruptured Chemical Tank at Washington Paper Mill

Aerial footage has revealed the aftermath of a ruptured chemical tank at a paper mill in Longview, Washington, where a serious industrial accident occurred earlier this week.

The incident took place at the Nippon Dynawave Packaging facility when a massive storage tank containing “white liquor,” a highly corrosive chemical used in paper production, suddenly failed. The rupture caused a dangerous spill and triggered a large emergency response involving firefighters, hazmat teams, and local authorities.

Officials confirmed that at least one person has died, while several others were injured and multiple workers remain unaccounted for as search and recovery operations continue. Emergency crews temporarily paused operations due to safety concerns around the unstable tank.

Authorities say the chemical involved is a mixture used in the paper-making process and, despite its dangerous nature, there is currently no confirmed threat to the surrounding community. However, environmental monitoring is ongoing.

The cause of the tank failure is still under investigation, with officials describing the situation as complex due to the scale of the rupture and the volume of material involved.

Residents in the area have been advised to stay updated as emergency teams continue working at the site.
