Three People Injured in Knife Attack at Winterthur Train Station as Police Investigate Motive

Three people have been hospitalized after a knife attack at Winterthur train station in Switzerland, with authorities confirming that the victims are Swiss nationals aged 28, 43, and 52.

Police say the suspect, a 31-year-old Swiss man, used a bladed weapon during the incident. The motive behind the attack is still under investigation.

According to eyewitness accounts reported by local media, a man was heard shouting before the attack began around 08:30 local time. One witness working nearby said he heard the suspect yell a religious phrase before the assault started.

Another eyewitness described seeing a man moving through the station underpass and attacking people randomly, while panic spread through the area.

A school group was reportedly passing through the station at the time, and a teacher was seen stepping in front of the children to shield them from danger.

Emergency services quickly secured the scene, with police cordoning off large sections around the station. Images from Swiss media show heavy security presence as investigations continue.

Authorities in Switzerland say they are working to establish the full circumstances surrounding the attack and whether the suspect acted alone.
