The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has criticized the government over the growing levels of hunger, insecurity, and poverty across the country as Muslims celebrate Eid-el-Kabir.
In a Sallah message issued by NLC President Joe Ajaero, the union extended greetings to Muslim faithful in Nigeria and around the world while expressing concern about the economic hardship facing many Nigerians.
Ajaero said millions of citizens are struggling with rising food prices, insecurity, unemployment, and worsening living conditions despite continuous promises from government authorities.
The labour union called on leaders at all levels to take urgent action to address the suffering of ordinary Nigerians and improve the welfare of workers and families.
The NLC also urged Nigerians to remain united and continue supporting peace, justice, and national development during the festive season.
