Shettima: President Has Redefined Modern Leadership in Nigeria
Abuja – The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has pledged to continue its support and partnership with the Federal Government in implementing key aspects of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Vice President Kashim Shettima, who received a delegation from UNICEF Nigeria led by Country Representative Ms. Wafaa Saeed Abdelatef at the Presidential Villa on Wednesday, praised the organization’s commitment and described Nigeria’s partnership with UNICEF as a “worthy alliance for progress.”
Shettima commended President Tinubu for his vision and leadership, stating that the administration is focused on legacy projects in health, nutrition, education, and human capital development. He highlighted initiatives such as the Nutrition 774 Initiative, the Economic and Financial Inclusion Programme, and the Nutrition Intervention Fund, as part of the government’s strategy to improve citizens’ welfare.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a man of courage and conviction. He is redefining modern leadership in Nigeria. We are regenerating our economy, and the reforms are already yielding results. Inflation is on the decline, and by the end of the year, the economy will stabilize for all to see,” Shettima said.
He further stressed the President’s determination to invest in Nigeria’s youth and transform the education sector, adding that UNICEF’s collaboration will help strengthen these efforts.
On her part, UNICEF’s Country Representative, Ms. Abdelatef, praised Shettima’s leadership and commitment to humanitarian causes. She described him as a “global citizen” and assured of UNICEF’s unwavering support for the administration’s programmes, particularly in nutrition, human capital development, and girl-child education.
She commended the Federal Government’s initiatives, including the Nutrition 774 Initiative, the Nutrition Intervention Fund, and the proposed Nutrition Bill, saying they reflect a clear vision and achievable mission for the nation’s development.
