Troops Rescue Captive, Dismantle Terrorist Hideouts in Katsina Offensive

Troops of the Nigerian Army operating under Operation Cleen Sweep have recorded significant successes in ongoing security operations across Katsina State, neutralising several suspected terrorists, rescuing a kidnapped victim, and destroying multiple criminal hideouts.

The operation, which forms part of efforts to improve security and combat terrorism in the region, involved coordinated offensives targeting areas believed to be used by armed groups for planning and launching attacks.

Military sources said troops engaged the terrorists during the operation, forcing them to abandon their camps while several suspects were neutralised. Security personnel also rescued a kidnapped victim who had been held captive by the criminals.

In addition to the rescue mission, soldiers dismantled a number of terrorist hideouts and recovered items believed to have been used by the armed groups during their activities.

The Nigerian Army said the operation demonstrates its commitment to protecting communities and restoring peace in areas affected by insecurity. Residents have been encouraged to continue providing useful information to security agencies to support ongoing efforts against criminal elements.

Operations are expected to continue across parts of Katsina State as security forces intensify actions aimed at eliminating terrorist threats and ensuring the safety of citizens.
