The Minister of Works, David Umahi, has revealed that leaders from Nigeria’s South-East region are actively exploring political solutions that could lead to the release of Nnamdi Kanu.
According to Umahi, discussions are ongoing among political leaders, traditional rulers, and other stakeholders in the region as they seek a peaceful and lawful resolution to the matter. He stressed that the efforts are focused on dialogue and engagement rather than confrontation.
Kanu, who leads the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has remained at the center of legal and political debates in Nigeria for several years. His detention has continued to generate reactions from supporters, community leaders, and various groups across the South-East.
Umahi expressed optimism that continued consultations and cooperation with the Federal Government could produce a favorable outcome. He emphasized the importance of maintaining peace, stability, and development in the region while discussions continue.
The minister also called on residents of the South-East to remain calm and support efforts aimed at finding a lasting solution through legal and political channels.
The development is expected to attract significant attention as stakeholders continue to monitor the discussions and any future decisions regarding Kanu’s case.
