Iran Condemns US Strikes as President Praises Military Strength

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has praised the country’s military capabilities following recent US airstrikes in southern Iran, as tensions continue to rise despite ongoing ceasefire negotiations.

The United States described the attacks as “self-defence” strikes targeting missile launch sites and Iranian boats allegedly attempting to place mines near the strategically important Strait of Hormuz. American officials said the operation was aimed at protecting US forces in the region.

Iran strongly condemned the attacks, calling them a “gross violation” of the ceasefire agreement that has been in place for several weeks. Tehran warned that it would not ignore what it described as hostile actions by Washington.

Speaking after the strikes, President Pezeshkian praised Iran’s armed forces and defended the country’s military readiness amid growing regional instability.

The situation has increased fears of a wider escalation across the Middle East, especially around the Strait of Hormuz — one of the world’s most important oil shipping routes. Oil prices have already reacted sharply due to concerns about supply disruptions.

Meanwhile, diplomatic talks involving the US, Iran, and regional mediators are still ongoing, although officials on both sides admit that reaching a lasting agreement may take more time.
