Enzo Fernandez wants to leave Chelsea after the club failed to qualify for European competition next season, with the London side reportedly placing a £120 million price tag on the Argentine midfielder.
The 25-year-old joined Chelsea from Benfica in 2023 for a massive transfer fee and remains under a long-term contract that runs until 2032. Despite interest in a move away, Chelsea are understood to still consider him part of their plans for the future unless a club meets their valuation.
Fernandez had an impressive individual campaign, scoring 15 goals and providing seven assists during the season. His performances earned him second place in Chelsea’s player of the season voting, even as the club endured another disappointing year.
Reports say his agent, Javier Pastore, is already exploring possible destinations, with Real Madrid believed to be Fernandez’s preferred choice. However, the Spanish giants are reportedly unwilling to match Chelsea’s asking price unless they generate major funds through player sales.
Manchester City have also been linked with the midfielder, especially with expectations that Enzo Maresca could soon replace Pep Guardiola as manager. Still, City are currently focusing more on a move for Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson.
French champions Paris Saint-Germain have also been mentioned as possible suitors, although sources close to the club have played down the chances of a transfer.
Chelsea are expected to make major changes ahead of next season after finishing 10th in the Premier League and ending the campaign without a trophy. Incoming manager Xabi Alonso is believed to want experienced, Premier League-proven players as the club attempts to rebuild.
