2027: ADC will deliver renewed action to repair damage caused by APC — Atiku

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has emerged as the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and immediately launched a strong criticism of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), accusing it of worsening hardship, insecurity, and political tension in Nigeria.

Atiku made the remarks shortly after being announced as the party’s flagbearer on Wednesday night. He described the current state of the country as deeply troubling and warned that Nigeria is being pushed toward a one-party system, which he says threatens democratic balance.

He pledged that the ADC would focus on what he called “renewed action” aimed at repairing damage he attributes to the APC-led administration and restoring stability to governance and the economy.

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) is positioning itself as a reform-driven alternative ahead of the 2027 general elections, with Atiku expected to lead its national campaign strategy.

The ruling All Progressives Congress has not yet issued an official response to the comments.

Political analysts say the development signals an early and heated start to the 2027 election cycle, with major parties already sharpening their messaging.
