Tiwa Savage Draws the Line, Warns X Influencer to Keep Her Son Out of Online Attacks

Afrobeats heavyweight Tiwa Savage has made it crystal clear that while she can tolerate online criticism directed at her, involving her child is a red line that must never be crossed. The singer issued a stern public warning to an X (formerly Twitter) influencer known as Dami Foreign after he made a comment referencing her son, Jamil Balogun, in a recent post.

The situation kicked off when the influencer shared a post that read, “Omo, why’s Tiwa Savage son frowning?” While it may have looked like casual commentary to some, the remark immediately drew a sharp response from the award-winning artiste, who described it as completely unacceptable.

Responding directly on X on Monday, Tiwa Savage did not mince words. She warned the influencer to desist from ever mentioning her child again, stating clearly that any repeat of such behaviour would escalate beyond social media. According to the singer, she had previously ignored what she described as repeated and deliberate online attacks from the influencer, but bringing her son into the conversation crossed a boundary she would not tolerate.

Savage went further to accuse Dami Foreign of running what she described as a sustained and “paid agenda” against her, claiming she had chosen silence in the past rather than engaging. However, she stressed that her patience ended the moment her child was dragged into public commentary. In another strongly worded post, she emphasised that while criticism of her career was one thing, discussing her child was off-limits.

The singer also revisited past remarks allegedly made by the influencer, including comments she described as malicious and deeply hurtful. One of such comments, according to Savage, suggested a desire for her to die young — a statement she forcefully rejected while sending it “back to sender.”

Dami Foreign has a documented history of making critical posts about the singer. On January 3, 2026, he commented on her age, writing, “Make we forget hype, Tiwa Savage don dey old o.” Similar posts questioning her relevance and age reportedly surfaced in May and September 2025, contributing to what Savage described as a pattern of targeted commentary.

In a separate response, the singer dismissed what she portrayed as the influencer’s fixation on her, stating bluntly that while the obsession was obvious, his relevance was not. The exchange quickly went viral on X, sparking intense debate among users.

Many social media users weighed in on the issue, discussing the boundaries of online criticism, the protection of children from public scrutiny, and the often-unchecked nature of Nigeria’s social media “banter culture.” While opinions were divided, a large number of users expressed support for Savage, agreeing that minors should never be dragged into online attacks, regardless of the target’s celebrity status.

The incident once again highlights the growing tension between public figures and online commentators, as well as the urgent conversation around accountability, ethics, and limits in digital spaces.
