What is a group of penguins called

A group of penguins is called a colony

But here’s the fun plot twist — depending on the vibe, they’ve got multiple names:

  • Colony – the official, boardroom-approved term (used on land and in breeding grounds).

  • Raft – when they’re chilling together in water, floating like they own the ocean.

  • Waddle – the fan-favorite, poetic classic, because… look at how they walk 😄

So yeah, whether they’re in formation on ice or floating like CEOs of Antarctica, penguins roll deep.
