Nigeria Police Force Begins 2025 Recruitment — Portal Opens December 15

The Nigeria Police Force has officially kicked off the recruitment process for 50,000 new constables for the 2025/2026 intake, marking one of the largest national security recruitment drives in recent years. The Police Service Commission (PSC) confirmed that the application portal will open on Monday, December 15, 2025, and remain active until January 25, 2026.

According to the PSC, the entire process will be free, transparent, and fully online, as both agencies commit to a smooth and fair exercise. Applicants are strongly advised to submit their forms only through the official recruitment portal: www.npfapplication.psc.gov.ng, as the commission continues to warn the public against fake websites and scammer-driven links circulating on social media.

The recruitment is open to two main categories: General Duty Constables and Specialist Constables. General duty applicants must be Nigerian by birth, between 18 and 25 years old, and possess a minimum of five O’Level credits, including Mathematics and English. Specialist applicants, on the other hand, may apply up to age 28 and are expected to have relevant trade skills or professional certifications backed by at least three years of practical experience.

The PSC emphasized that no candidate should pay money to anyone, as the application, shortlisting, and screening stages are completely free. Physical, medical, and background checks will be part of the final selection process, with the aim of ensuring that only capable and disciplined candidates make it into the system.

This recruitment drive is part of a renewed national effort to strengthen internal security, expand policing coverage, and reduce crime across the country. Interested applicants are encouraged to prepare their documents early and apply before the deadline to avoid last-minute rush or technical issues.

With the portal set to open in a few days, thousands of young Nigerians are already gearing up for the opportunity to join the force. The PSC urges the public to stay updated only through official Nigeria Police and PSC channels for accurate information.
