15 Farmers Abducted in Kaduna, Lawmaker Condemns Attack as “Cruel and Senseless”

Fifteen farmers from Ungwan Nungu community in the Bokana Ward of Sanga Local Government Area, Kaduna State, have been abducted by armed men while returning from their farms.

The attack, which took place on Saturday, November 29, 2025, has thrown the quiet rural community into anxiety as families anxiously await word on the condition and location of their loved ones.

Reacting to the incident, the House of Representatives member for Jema’a/Sanga Federal Constituency, Daniel Amos, described the abduction as “cruel, senseless and deeply regrettable,” warning that the event highlights the worsening insecurity plaguing rural communities.

“Our people deserve to live without fear. Targeting peaceful, hardworking community members is unacceptable and must not be tolerated under any circumstance,” Amos said in a Tuesday statement.

He urged residents of Ungwan Nungu and surrounding settlements to remain calm and avoid retaliatory actions that could escalate the already tense situation. Instead, he called for heightened vigilance and close cooperation with security operatives working to track down the kidnappers.

Amos further demanded a coordinated and intelligence-driven security response to ensure the immediate rescue of the abducted victims.

“I call on the security agencies to leave no stone unturned in the search for the abducted persons. We expect intensified surveillance, intelligence-driven operations and the prompt arrest and prosecution of the perpetrators,” he stated.

Expressing solidarity with the affected families, the lawmaker assured them that efforts were underway behind the scenes to secure the victims’ safe return.

“All of us feel the pain of the families. We will continue to push for every necessary action until the victims are safely reunited with their loved ones,” he added.

Despite the growing climate of insecurity, Amos urged communities not to lose hope, reaffirming that the safety and well-being of his constituents remain his top priority.
