The incident, which occurred during the boarding of Flight UN0523 on November 17, 2025, drew significant public attention. United Nigeria Airlines emphasized that both individuals used their social media platforms to pledge better conduct and to maintain the standards expected of all passengers during air travel. The airline stated that these commitments are crucial for preserving a safe and respectful travel environment.
United Nigeria Airlines also praised the quick and professional response of aviation authorities, including the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), airport security (AVSEC), other aviation agencies, staff of Asaba International Airport, and the airline’s own flight crew.
