El-Rufai Says Nigerians Tired of APC, PDP, See ADC as 2027 Alternative

Former Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai says growing frustration with both the APC and PDP is opening the door for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to become Nigeria’s next major political force. Speaking in Jos at the unveiling of the ADC National Contact and Mobilisation Office, he said Nigerians across all regions are fed up with failed promises, leadership gaps, and the recycling of the same political elites.

El-Rufai argued that while politicians keep hopping between APC and PDP, ordinary citizens are shifting their loyalty toward the ADC, which he described as the party that best reflects the country’s desire for change ahead of 2027. He said the coming elections will be a battle between the old political order and Nigerians hungry for a new direction.

According to him, the ADC stands out because of its inclusive structure—40% of leadership slots are reserved for youths and 35% for women, a move he believes offers genuine representation and breaks decades of political recycling.

He also lamented the decline of peace and unity in Plateau State, once known as a thriving tourism hub, but insisted that competent and sincere leadership can restore its identity as the “Home of Peace.” El-Rufai urged Plateau residents to embrace the ADC as a unifying platform capable of bridging ethnic and religious divides.

ADC Mobilisation Coordinator in Plateau, Jamilu Datti, echoed his message, saying Nigerian youths continue to suffer most from bad governance, including unemployment, insecurity, and weak education and healthcare systems. He called on young people to rally behind the ADC as a party that truly prioritizes their future.
