Atiku Condemns Kebbi School Attack, Calls for Urgent Security Overhaul

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has strongly condemned the deadly attack on Government Girls Comprehensive Senior Secondary School in Maga, Kebbi State, where the school’s Vice-Principal was killed and several female students were abducted.

Atiku described the incident as a painful reminder of Nigeria’s worsening insecurity. He also condemned the killing of APC chieftain Umar Moriki and the mass abductions in Tsafe LGA, Zamfara State, where entire families have been taken by bandits.

He noted that similar violent attacks are sweeping through Plateau, Benue, Kano, and other states, leaving communities displaced and fearful. According to him, the situation in Shanono LGA of Kano—where residents are fleeing for safety—shows that the security crisis has reached an unacceptable level.

Atiku urged the Federal Government to urgently strengthen the nation’s security architecture, deploy more security personnel to vulnerable areas, and intensify intelligence-driven operations.

He stressed that no country can progress while its people live under constant threat, insisting that Nigerians deserve peace, protection, and dignity.
