The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has raised serious concerns over the recent wave of terror attacks sweeping across Nigeria, accusing internal saboteurs of collaborating with external forces to undermine national security. In a statement issued on Saturday in Lagos by the party’s spokesman, Mr. Seye Oladejo, the APC emphasized that the pattern and precision of these attacks point to internal compromise rather than mere security lapses.
According to Oladejo, the successful execution of attacks, despite Nigeria’s advanced intelligence network and heightened security alerts, leaves little room for coincidence. “There is no magic or mystery when terrorists successfully launch attacks despite advanced intelligence capabilities and security alerts,” he said. “This is nothing short of internal sabotage. It is evidence that supposed protectors are working hand-in-glove with aggressors.”
The APC spokesman highlighted the precision with which terrorists strike soft targets, suggesting insider knowledge of troop movements and logistics. He warned that the repeated weakening of the nation’s security architecture appears deliberate, noting that these are not ordinary operational lapses but calculated openings created by individuals entrusted to safeguard the country.
Further fueling suspicion, Oladejo pointed to the timing of the attacks following foreign political comments. “Criminals do not suddenly gain capacity because of foreign remarks. They gain confidence when saboteurs facilitate their operations,” he remarked, stressing that orchestrating simultaneous assaults on multiple fronts requires extensive inside information, guidance, and logistical support—far beyond ordinary bush-level improvisation.
The APC also expressed concern over opposition voices, accusing some politicians of inadvertently amplifying terrorist propaganda. “Some politicians now act like unofficial spokesmen for terrorists, repeating their narratives and dampening national morale,” Oladejo claimed.
Despite these challenges, the party commended Nigeria’s Armed Forces for their unwavering resilience. “Our Armed Forces continue to defend our nation with remarkable bravery despite betrayals by a few bad eggs,” he said, reaffirming the Tinubu-led administration’s commitment to a decisive and intelligence-driven war on terror.
Oladejo underscored that the government is determined to expose anyone involved in sabotaging national security. “Your game is up. Your betrayal is noted. Your network will be exposed,” he warned, while expressing confidence that Nigeria would overcome these internal and external threats. “Nigeria will not collapse to fulfill the fantasies of failed politicians or foreign actors. Victory is certain. Nigeria shall prevail.”
